Cheshire History Day
Cheshire History Day will take place on Saturday 29th October and I am delighted to be the opening speaker.
The theme of the day is Strongholds of Cheshire and will investigate the various strongholds in the county over a number of periods and eras. I will be kicking off the day speaking about ‘Cheshire Hillforts: Feuding Fortresses or a Social Network?’.

There will also be some interesting talks about medieval castles, including one by the fantastic Rachel Swallow ‘Queen of Lost Castles’. The day ends with a talk on the very hush-hush, top secret nuclear bunker (which has its own brown tourist sign, which always makes me giggle. Not so secret now!). I’m really looking forward to hearing all of the talks.
The History Day will take place on Saturday 29th October 2022 9.45am-4.30pm at The Grange Theatre in Hartford. Tickets are £12 each.
Further details and information on how to book tickets can be found at the Cheshire Local History Association’s website: https://www.sites.google.com/site/cheshirelha/cheshire-history-day
