Weatherman Walking – Llyn Cerrig Bach, Anglesey
Tune in to BBC One Wales’ Weatherman Walking on Thursday, 8.05pm to join Derek and I on Anglesey. I’ll be revealing one of my favourite stories which merges ancient archaeology, the second world war, mystical magic and… golf! Join me at Llyn Cerrig Bach.

Weatherman Walking is on a day early this week, so don’t miss it! This week the episode finds us on Anglesey, and I’ll be visiting a very special place called Llyn Cerrig Bach.

I join the lovely, Eflyn Owen Jones to reveal her fascinating connection to the sacred Llyn Cerrig Bach. It’s a tale of mystery, discovery and all because of the detective skills of one very special man. This led to the rediscovery of the most amazing hoard of objects, dating back thousands of years.
I also had special permission on the day from the RAF to visit RAF Valley, right on the edge of this special site. It is the reason this archaeological treasure trove was discovered. You may know part of this site better as Anglesey Airport, where you can fly to and from Cardiff! It’s just a stone’s throw from where these items were found within Llyn Cerrig Bach.
All filmed last year, our favourite weatherman Derek will be walking from Porth Swtan to Cemlyn Bay. Anglesey is such a very special place and I was delighted to be part of the team for this episode in particular, helping to tell a story I absolutely love.
You can catch up with the other episodes in this series, including episodes 3 (Pembrokeshire) and 5 (Glamorgan Heritage Coast) that I have guest presented on, by visiting the Weatherman Walking BBC iPlayer page here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/b006rh64/weatherman-walking . Episode 3 is available for 7 more days only! As we keep self-isolating, stay home and stay safe, Weatherman Walking is a great chance to see the great outdoors from the comfort and safety of your home – perfect escapism!
