Weatherman Walking – Llandudno
I felt right at home filming this week’s episode of Weatherman Walking – this week it is Deganwy to Llandudno!

Tune in this Friday, BBC 1 Wales, 7.35pm, for the next episode of Weatherman Walking where Derek, Mo and I will be finding out more about one of my favourite areas on the Welsh coast.

Derek and I meet in Deganwy, at the beginning of his walk, before setting off on our own mini adventures – him around the Orme, and me towards one of Llandudno’s most famous landmarks, the pier.

I find out more about the ‘Queen of Welsh Piers’ by meeting up with two brilliant people I’ve worked with many times before – archaeologists and historians Dr Sian James and Dr Toby Driver, whose great-grandfather was the person who designed the beautiful, ornate metalwork on the pier.

I adore Llandudno and visit regularly – it is just up the road from where I live! – and I was fascinated to learn more about this spectacular landmark and why it is so special. It is close to so many people’s hearts and lots of people, tourists and locals alike, have wonderful stories and memories associated with it.

Tune in to BBC 1 Wales at 7.35pm this Friday night to join us on our fun adventure to the seaside! The episode is also available of iplayer at www.bbc.co.uk/weathermanwalking
