During my most recent visit to Northumberland, my sister and I visited the iconic ‘Sycamore Gap’ and I snapped this shot of Hadrian’s Wall, the famous tree and the “Great British Summer”.
Hadrian’s Wall is a World Heritage Site, an incredible monument and feat of engineering.
An iconic scene from Robin Hood Prince of Thieves was also filmed here, and my sister and I took great delight in recreating this promo photo with Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman. Wrapped up in our own scarves with our hands on imaginary swords, posing for the camera on a tripod our fellow walkers (fully kitted out for their stint on this National Trail) must have wondered what on earth we were doing!
I shared my (sensible) photo of Sycamore Gap on my instagram and twitter feeds and people really seemed to like the photo! The Great British Postcard Competition commented that it would be a good entry to their competition, so I entered!
Now, I am putting out a plea to you all to follow the link and click on ‘Vote’, before noon on 11th September please!
And if you can ask your friends to vote as well I would be so grateful! I’m not a professional photographer by any means, as I’m sure you can tell, but it would be lovely to get a few votes if I can.
